“Wicked” Press Tour Was a Master Class in Method Dressing

Method dressing became one of Hollywood’s biggest red carpet trends in recent years, and it was in full force during the Wicked press tour. Its stars used the power of fashion to pay homage to their characters, and we’re bringing you some of their best, most wicked looks your way.

Cynthia Erivo

Cynthia Erivo gave us nothing but fashion excellence while promoting Wicked, and all of her outfits were a love letter to her character Elphaba. We’ve seen her rock several green looks by Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs as a homage to her characters, but she mostly wore dramatic black gowns by Schiaparelli, Louis Vuitton, Thom Brown, and Dior.

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande was on her fashion game while promoting Wicked, and wore a series of pink outfits by the likes of Thom Brown, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, and Louis Vuitton. Even when she took a break from wearing Glinda’s signature color, Grande’s outfits still paid homage to the Wizard of Oz or the original Broadway musical that inspired Wicked.

Michelle Yeoh

Michelle Yeoh wasn’t as committed to method dressing as Erivo and Grande, but she still delivered several fashion moments that knocked us off our feet. Her blonde wig from the Los Angeles premiere was a nod to her character Madame Morrible, and she later hit the red carpet in London in shades of green and black.
