Try This Pomelo Salad for a Flavor Explosion

When it comes to refreshing salads, few ingredients can elevate your dish quite like the vibrant, zesty burst of a pomelo. This citrus fruit blends perfectly in a salad with its sweet and slightly tart flavor. Let’s jump into the recipe.


  • 2 large pomelos
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, crushed

For the dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
  • 1 small red chili, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced


  1. Start by peeling the pomelos. Break the segments into smaller pieces if they are too large.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pomelo pieces, julienned carrot, sliced red onion, chopped mint, and cilantro. 
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the fish sauce, lime juice, honey, chopped chili, and minced garlic. Adjust the ingredients according to your taste preference. If you like it sweeter, add a bit more honey. For more zing, squeeze in additional lime juice.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad ingredients and toss gently to coat everything evenly. 
  5. Transfer the salad to a serving dish. Sprinkle the roasted peanuts over the top for crunch.
