“The Garden of Time” was chosen as the dress code of this year’s Met Gala, and the stars in attendance took it pretty seriously. Everyone from Zendaya to Tyla put their own twist on this theme, giving us some pretty dreamy and whimsical looks along the way.
Zendaya in Maison Margiela/Givenchy
We can always count on Zendaya to nail the Met Gala dress code, and she did it twice this time around. She kicked things off with a Maison Margiela siren dress, decorated with organza, tiny vines, grapes, and birds, before rocking an equally stunning vintage Givenchy dress.
Gigi Hadid in Thom Browne
Gigi Hadid gave us one of the most spectacular floral dresses at this year’s ceremony in a Thom Browne gown, decorated with two million white micro beads and rose appliques.
Cardi B in Windowsen
At first glance, Cardi B’s Windowsen gown doesn’t seem to have anything to do with Met Gala’s theme, but there’s a catch! The rapper wanted to transform into a black rose this year, instead of taking the obvious floral route.
Tyla in Balmain
Tyla delivered one of this year’s most artful red carpet looks in a sandy Balmain gown, but did she follow the theme? She didn’t wear any florals, but her dress was supposed to evoke the sands of time and she even hit the red carpet with an hourglass in hand!
