In the quest for a healthier lifestyle, more and more people are turning to homemade alternatives to store-bought products. Making your own deodorant is a great way to avoid harsh chemicals and fragrances while still keeping fresh throughout the day. Plus, it’s surprisingly simple and cost-effective. Here’s how you can create your own natural deodorant at home.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup of coconut oil
- 1/4 cup of baking soda
- 1/4 cup of cornstarch or arrowroot powder
- 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oils
Instructions:
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix the baking soda and cornstarch or arrowroot powder until well combined.
- If your coconut oil is solid, gently melt it in the microwave or on a stovetop until it’s just liquefied but not hot.
- Pour the melted coconut oil over the dry ingredients. Stir the mixture until it forms a smooth paste.
- Now, add your essential oils to the mixture.
- Scoop your deodorant into an old deodorant stick container or a small jar. If using a jar, you can apply the deodorant with your fingers.
- Place your deodorant in the refrigerator for a few hours to set. Once it’s firm, it’s ready to use! Keep in mind that if your home is warm, the coconut oil may soften.
