Overpacking is one of the common issues most travelers deal with, but it can easily be avoided. There are certain items you’re probably double-packing for every trip, and you’ll easily minimize your luggage if you don’t go overboard with these five.
Shoes
Shoes are most likely the busiest item in your suitcase, so don’t go overboard when choosing what to bring. One comfy and versatile pair of sneakers will do the trick if you’re going on an active holiday.
Bulky Clothes
Pretty much every traveler packs more clothes than they need for their trip, but you shouldn’t overdo it with bulky clothes such as jackets, jeans, and sweaters. One of each is usually enough, but you can also replace them with lightweight clothes that are easy to mix and match.
Books
No matter how much you love reading, you won’t have a lot of free time on your hands during your travels. One book will be quite enough, but you should also consider switching to an e-reader to free up some space in your suitcase.
Towels
If your accommodation provides towels, there’s no need to pack them at all because they’ll take up a lot of space in your suitcase.
Toiletries
You also shouldn’t bring any toiletries if they’re available at your accommodation, and they’re best packed in travel-sized containers if that’s not the case.
