Modern life can be so busy, sometimes it’s hard to know when—or how—to take a break. However, sometimes our bodies can send us clear signs that it’s time to switch off and relax for a day or two. Our skin is one of the best communicators, so look out for these common signs and symptoms which may indicate that you’re under a lot of stress and need to take some time out.
Redness
Redness and itching are common signs of irritation, but if you haven’t changed anything up in your beauty or skincare regime recently, this could be a clear indicator that you’re under stress. Try catching up on sleep and having a duvet day to decompress, and then treat your skin to some gentle, intensive moisturizers to reduce the redness.
Oiliness
If your skin has suddenly become oilier than you’re used to, this can also be a sign that you need to take it easy. Although it seems strange, oily skin is often crying out for hydration so focus on using products that contain hyaluronic acid and take some time out to pamper yourself.
Dryness
Dry skin can be tricky to treat, so focus on using gentle cleansers and intensive moisturizers. Always wear SPF and permit yourself to rest as stress and exhaustion have been proven to exacerbate dry skin issues.
