The Academy Awards nominations have finally been unveiled last week, and if you still haven’t had the chance to check out Oscar-nominated films – now’s the time! From The Brutalist to Emilia Pérez, our brief guide will help you find all the best picture contenders on streaming, VOD, or in theaters.
Available in Theaters
There’s nothing quite like seeing Oscar-nominated movies on the big screen, and many of them are available in theaters alone. That happens to be the case with the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, the historical dramas The Brutalist and Nickel Boys, and the surprise best picture contender, the Portuguese drama I’m Still Here.
Available on Streaming
Emilia Pérez will come into the Oscars night with 13 nominations, and many people discovered it after it became available on Netflix. Dune: Part Two can also be watched on this streaming service, along with Hulu. The Papal thriller Conclave can be streamed on Peacock, while the body horror The Substance became available on Mubi following its theatrical success.
Available to Rent/Buy
Several best picture contenders can be rented or purchased on Apple TV and Prime Video, including the indie rom-com Anora and the hit musical Wicked. Some of the films available on streaming can also be watched this way, including Dune: Part Two, The Substance, and Conclave.
