After months of anticipation, the Academy Awards returned to Hollywood this Sunday night, and the red carpet was truly on fire! From dazzling silver gowns to Barbiecore, this year’s Oscars brought some pretty amazing red carpet trends our way, and here are five of the very best.
Silver Vibes
Silver was trending at this year’s Oscars, and some of the night’s best looks came in this color. Halle Berry and Demi Moore stole the show in their silver gowns, but we’ve also seen Felicity Jones, Mindy Kaling, and Yvonne Orji embrace this trend.
Dazzling Gowns
Dazzling gowns in other shades were also having a moment. None created more buzz than Selena Gomez’s golden Ralph Lauren dress, covered in 16,000 hand-sewn Rosemont crystals.
Barbiecore
Every time we think we’ve left the Barbiecore craze in the past, pink dresses make an epic comeback. Mikey Madison put this trend back on the map in her black and pink Dior gown, along with Ariana Grande, Monica Barbaro, and Rachel Sennott.
Method Dressing
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo brought method dressing to the Oscars and used their looks to pay homage to Wicked. Dramatic gowns worn by Demi Moore and Zoe Saldaña were also a nod to their Oscar-nominated performances.

Black dresses were having a moment at the Oscars, thanks to the likes of Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner, and Lily-Rose Depp. They were going even stronger at Vanity Fair’s Oscars party, where everyone from Selena Gomez and Olivia Rodrigo to Kendall Jenner and Mikey Madison wore this color.
