Make an Antioxidant-Rich Tea From Pomegranate Skins

Have you ever wondered what to do with those pomegranate peels after enjoying the juicy seeds? Well, it turns out, they’re not just compost material. You can actually turn them into a delicious, antioxidant-rich tea. It’s a fantastic way to make the most out of this superfruit and give your body a healthy boost.

Ingredients:

  • 3 pomegranate peels

Instructions:

Start by separating the peel from the pomegranate fruit. Make sure to remove any residual fruit flesh. Wash the peels thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.

Next, dehydrate the pomegranate peels. Lay the peels on a baking sheet and put them in your oven at the lowest temperature setting. This should take about 2 to 3 hours. The peels should be completely dried and brittle to the touch.

Once the peels are dried, transfer them to a high-speed blender. Blend until you achieve a fine powder. This pomegranate peel powder is your tea base.

To brew your tea, place a coffee filter in a pour-over coffee maker or tea kettle. Add a spoonful of the pomegranate peel powder. Pour hot water over it and let it steep for five minutes. The resulting tea will have a unique, slightly tangy flavor and a beautiful color.
