Now more than ever, women are demanding equality. Equal pay, equal treatment in the workplace, equal treatment as worthy human beings, and the ability to express themselves without repression has been on the forefront of the feminist movement. Campaigns such as the #MeToo and #LikeAGirl campaigns have all flourished recently as more and more women take a stance in order to express themselves and embrace their worth as individuals.
Recently, the online dictionary, Merriam-Webster dubbed “feminism” as the 2017 word of the year.
